Nadine Boers, MD

After graduating as medical doctor in 2020 at Utrecht University, she started as a PhD student at the Department of Plastic Reconstructive Surgery. Her research focuses on nerve surgery in the upper and lower extremity. She mainly focuses on nerve decompression in patients with recurrent compression of the ulnar nerve at the cubital tunnel and patients with diabetic neuropathy and superimposed nerve compression in the lower extremity. From June 2021, she coordinates the DeCompression (DECO-) trial, a multicenter randomized controlled trial in which patients with diabetic neuropathy and nerve compression receive nerve decompressions surgery or conservative treatment. Besides her research activities, together with prof. J.H. Coert, she initiated the Nerve Surgery Course in 2023.
