Prof. Ivan Ducic, MD PhD

After graduating as medical doctor in Croatia, he received his PhD in Medical Sciences and Pharmacology, concluding several years of neuroscience research at the Gerogetown University Department of Pharmacology. He then started his residency in Plastic Surgery at Georgetown University in Washington, DC after which he followed a fellowship in Peripheral Nerve Surgery at The Institute for Peripheral Nerve Surgery in Baltimore, MD.

As a board-certified plastic surgeon, his clinical and academic focus are mainly related to peripheral nerve surgery. He is the founder of the Peripheral Nerve Surgery Institute, Georgetown University Hospital, a member of several major plastic surgery societies and the past-president of the American Society for Peripheral Nerve (2012).

Currently, he is a clinical professor of surgery. Armed with 5-years of basic science research experience, he continued to be very involved with research, as the extensive list of scientific publications and (invited) presentations confirm.
