At the beginning of her medicine masters in 2021 she got involved in research at the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Utrecht University. In 2022, she started as a MD/PhD student with a main interest in peripheral nerve diseases. Her research focuses on malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs). From October 2022, she coordinates a Multicenter Cohort Study on the treatment and function of MPNST patients across nine sarcoma centers in The Netherlands and the Mayo Clinic. She is also engaged in imaging and radiomics studies of benign and malignant nerve sheath tumors.
