Henk Coert is a plastic surgeon dedicated to the care of hand, wrist and peripheral nerve problems. After his residency, he obtained an ACGME accredited add-on qualification in hand surgery at the NYU and Mount Sinai Medical Centers in New York City.
His current position is professor and chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery at the UMC Utrecht.
He has served as president of the Netherlands Society for Surgery of the Hand as Editor of the Journal of Hand Surgery (European Volume), as the council and chair program of the American Society of Peripheral Nerve, the Vice Secretary General of the European Wrist Arthroscopy Society (IWAS) and a member of the editorial board of three other peer reviewed journals.
He has published around 160 peer reviewed articles and several book chapters. Besides his clinical work and research, he values teaching very much demonstrated by his involvement in numerous courses nationally and internationally.
